Dermal Filler Treatment Information and Consent

Prior to your treatment today with dermal filler, I wish to make you aware of potential risks, side effects, and complications that CAN occur with this treatment. Please be aware that it is a legal obligation to ensure you have been told this information to ensure you are fully informed before your treatment at our clinic.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask your practitioner or halt your treatment until you feel ready to proceed.

A signature today will present your agreement to the treatment and understanding of any risks, side effects, and complications.

Potential risks/complications of dermal filler include; however, this list may not be exhaustive due to the bespoke nature of the treatment and individuality of you as a person:

  • Redness
  • Swelling
  • Pain
  • Bruising
  • Itching
  • Rash
  • Infection
  • Cold sores
  • Nodules around the injection site
  • Granulomas or another type of inflammatory reaction to the filler
  • Movement of the filler from one area to another
  • Injury to blood vessels or nerves
  • Pain, tingling of the face
  • Vision disturbance or blindness
  • Tissue death, necrosis, sloughing of the skin
  • Cold sores
  • Suboptimal results or ineffective results
  • Asymmetry or unevenness
  • Allergy, anaphylaxis

Emergency Signs

Please note the emergency signs to look out for, and if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms post-treatment. Please contact your clinic practitioner immediately.

  • Colour changes of the skin or surrounding area - pale, blue, purple, red, white
  • Mottling or patchiness of the skin
  • Pain that is increasing
  • Redness that is increasing
  • Blisters, pustules, oozing
  • Vision changes
  • Shortness of breath, difficult breathing
  • Tongue or throat swelling
